Serendipity is a word coined by Horace Walpole in his correspondences in 1754, and is taken from an old Persian story "The Three Princes of Serendip". Serendip is a variation of an Arabic name for the island now called Sri Lanka. In the story the princes made fortunate discoveries of things that they were NOT seeking. Serendipity describes this good fortune not sought. It describes perfectly how this company came to be

Serendip IT provide a broad range of IT support services for small and medium sized companies. Operating from Chorley, we cover clients as far afield as Birmingham, Liverpool and Leeds.

These services include, but are not limited to, Windows & Linux servers, networks & network security, Internet access, databases & reporting using a variety of management information systems such as Crystal Reports and Business Objects, data security, business continuity planning and user support.

We have experience implementing and running the following enterprise systems - TOLAS, Maginus, Epicor eBackOffice & eFrontOffice and most recently Servitor. This includes interfacing these systems with financial management systems and third party client software.

Serendip IT also design and host websites. This includes registering your domain name and any required photography.

We provide IT hardware and software at very competitive prices.

The company draws on over 18 years experience in both academic and business IT provision, as well as an understanding of ISO9002 quality standards and ITIL support methodologies.

Our rates are competitive, with a free consultation prior to any work being undertaken, and only time actually used on the job is billed for with no minimum charge.

Remote support is either provided for a set fee per month (from as little as £35 per month) or by the incident when our normal hourly rate will apply.
